CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

All classes are open to persons 13 years of age unless otherwise noted.

Aqua Zumba
Known as the Zumba "Pool Party", Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula & philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that's cardio-conditioning, body toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief. Instructor: Kathy Frank

Arthritis Aquatics Program
This class is designed to accommodate the abilities of persons with arthritis and other related diseases. Individuals work at their own pace and are taught in a group setting to help improve muscular strength, endurance & flexibility. Participation may also help with pain management and help to relieve arthritic symptoms. The program is held in the GRC's indoor heated pool. The pool was designed to accommodate many water activities, including: lap swimming, swim lessons, water aerobics, leisure swimming, etc. The National Arthritis Foundation has developed water temp standards for this class (min of 83 F). & the GRC attempts to meet those standards. However, there may be times when the water fall may fall below 83 F due to mechanical issues. The NAF recommends that participants keep moving in the water throughout the class and if necessary, wear a hat, leotards, gloves or t-shirt to maintain body heat. Instructor: Kathy Frank

Arthritis Exercise
Developed for people with Arthritis, this program helps maintain fitness while reducing arthritis pain. The class offers warm-up, endurance, cool-down, stretch & relaxation. Created and approved by the Arthritis Foundation. Wear comfortable clothing, supportive shoes and bring water. Instructor: Kathy Frank

Cardio Drumming                                                                                                                                                                             What is cardio drumming? It brings together drumsticks, an exercise ball, and an exercise ball stand to create one of the most fun workouts you'll ever do. Using the exercise ball and the floor as your drum, and mixing in fun moves, cardio drumming turns keeping a rhythm into a workout you won't want to stop. Instructor:  Ronni Williams & Lori Bias

Express Cycling & Sculpt                                                                                                                                                                       30 minutes of cycling (can be done at your own pace and fitness level) combined with 10-15 minutes of muscle conditioning (arms, abs, glutes etc.) using various types of equipment.  Good times, great music, fun workout!  Instructor: Ann Neu
