Youth Fall Soccer League

The season will consist of 8 games, which will be played on Saturday mornings and several Sunday afternoons.  Practices are 1-2 nights a week and are scheduled by the individual volunteer coach.  Volunteer coaches are needed.  Interested persons should contact Juli Pintz (Recreation Coordinator) at 614-836-1000 ext. 1513 or jpintz@groveport.org.

Soccer officials are needed.  The GRD needs officials for the fall soccer season.  Officials earn $12 - $22 per game, pay rate depends on if official is certified and what division they work.  Officials must be 14 years of age or older.  Interested persons should contact Juli Pintz at 614-836-1000 ext. 1513 or jpintz@groveport.org.

The Community Cleat Box is a used cleat exchange program.  Used cleats (in good condition) may be donated, then participants needing cleats for the upcoming season may select a pair from the inventory free of charge.  Check the front desk of the GRC for availability of cleats.

Divisions: 4.5 Years - Kindergarten (Grade is Current School Year 2019-2020)
(starts at 4.5 years old)
3 v 3 no goalie; size 3 ball; 20 yd. x 25 yd. field; games are four 8-minute quarters; GRD attempts to evenly divide teams by grade, gender, shirt size, and experience in order to create balance; coaches officiate games.
1st/2nd Grade (Current School Year 2019-2020)
4 v 4; no goalie; size 3 ball; 30 yd. x 35 yd. field; games are four 12-minute quarters; GRD attempts to evenly divide teams by grade, shirt size, and experience in attempt to create balance; soccer officials will be utilized. Genders will be separate divisions when possible.
3rd/4th Grade (Current School Year 2019-2020)
6 v 6 (including goalie); size 4 ball; 40 yd. x 60 yd. field; games are two 25-minute halves; players are assessed (not drafted) to identify and divide the skill level among teams to try and achieve league balance; soccer officials will be utilized. Genders will be divided into separate divisions when possible. MANDATORY ASSESSMENTS on Sunday, 8/4 at Cruiser Park (4677 Bixby Rd).
5th/6th Grade (Current School Year 2019-2020)
8 v 8 (including goalie); size 4 ball; 50 yd. x 80 yd. field; games are two 30-minute halves; players are assessed to identify and divide the skill level among teams to try and achieve league balance; soccer officials will be utilized. Genders will have separate divisions when possible. MANDATORY ASSESSMENTS on Sunday, 8/4, at 2:30 PM at Cruiser Park (4677 Bixby Rd.)

Games: Tentatively played between September 7 - October 20, 2019

Pre-Season Kick-Off Clinics-  are optional clinics before official practices begin.  Participants registered in our Fall soccer program are able to be introduced or review drills, skills, and rules of the game.

4.6 Years - K: 8/5, 8/12;  6:00-7:00 PM
1st-2nd: 8/6, 8/13;  6:00-7:00 PM
3rd-4th: 8/7, 8/14; 6:00-7:00 PM
5th-6th: 8/8, 8/15; 6:00-7:00 PM
