Senior 65+ Yrs. Fitness Programs

The Groveport Recreation Center currently offers three programs for persons 65 years of age and older. 

SILVERSNEAKERS by Tivity Health

SilverSneakers has been active at the Groveport Recreation Center since May of 2012. This program is the nation's largest fitness program designed exclusively for older adults. SilverSneakers members of a sponsoring health plan receive a no-cost basic membership that includes the opportunity to participate in the SilverSneakers group exercise classes.

RENEW ACTIVE by United Healthcare

The Groveport Recreation Center began offering Renew Active (previously known as Optum Fitness Advantage) in July of 2018. Program participants will have access to all standard fitness facility membership services, including classes, programs, etc. that are created by the facility to seniors as part of its standard general fitness facility membership. 

SPECIAL NOTE: Renew Active participants may participate in classes and programs provided that participants pay the normal class and/or program fee. Renew Active does NOT offer free programs (unlike SilverSneakers).

AARP Medicare Supplement Program by United Healthcare

In January 2019, the Groveport Recreation Center began offering this program for older adults. Program participants will have access to all standard fitness facility membership services, including classes, programs, etc. that are created internally by the fitness facility and offered by the facility to seniors as part of its standard general fitness facility membership. 

SPECIAL NOTE (1): This program requires members to pay 50% of annual membership fee (pro-rated based on month joining the facility) immediately following orientation. AARP Medicare Supplement Plan pays the Groveport Recreation Center the remaining 50% of the retail rate with a cap at $20 if the member visits the facility 4 or ore times within a calendar year. 

SPECIAL NOTE (2): AARP Medicare Supplement Plan participants may participate in classes and programs provided that participants pay the normal class and/or program fee. The AARP Medicare Supplement Plan program does not offer free programs (unlike SilverSneakers).
