Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission is composed of five members, appointed by the Mayor subject to Council’s approval by a majority vote of Council comprised of (1) member of Village Council. (1) representative of Groveport Youth Athletic Association and (3) Village residents.
The Village Administrator and Parks & Recreation Director are ex-officio members of the Commission. The Parks & Recreation Director or his/her designee will serve as Secretary.
The responsibilities of the Commission include promoting a comprehensive park and recreation program for the citizens of Groveport, acting as an advisory body to the Parks & Recreation Director, Administrator and Mayor as well as serving as a recommending body to the Village Council regarding the operation of the Parks & Recreation Department in matters relating to programs, policies, rules & regulations, capital and operational needs and other matters affecting the Department.
Ordinance No. 2006-019 created the Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission for the Village of Groveport pursuant to Section 8.05 of the Charter of the Village of Groveport.
